The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
Goodreads Rating: 4.31
YES! I have completed this series, finally. For those of you following me, you might know that I don’t have a very good relationship with this series. I really hated the first book because I felt it was all over the place and super confusing. I listened to the second one on audio book and was still super confused. I enjoyed the third book. It was the first time in the series I actually felt like I was reading a decent book.
The Raven King concludes our journey. This series has two tropes that I hate. I can’t say what they are because I will spoil some people.
Overall, at the end of the novel (4 books in by the way), I was like BUT WHY? Why did I read 4 novels for this. And it’s partially by fault because I didn’t like the series but kept pushing on because everybody loved this series.
This series was like being inside the mind of someone tripping on acid. It was here, there, everywhere, and I couldn’t ever understand where we were going or why. Why should I care?
Either way, I felt the last two books were the best in the series. I gave this one 3 stars. I would not recommend his series and will probably rehome this one to someone who cares to read it more than I do.
